| Biography for Dianna Rowley A native of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, Dianna was born in 1971, the youngest of 4 daughters to Bernard and Gretta Hilterman. She began studying dance at a very young age following in her 3 older sisters footsteps. As a child, rather than playing with Dolls, Dianna enjoyed putting on dance productions for her family and neighbors. While in Pennsylvania, she studied at Carnegie Hall, Fairgrieve School (founded by Gene Kelley's mother), and under the direction of Sister Natalie Lane. Dianna has toured the country as an Independent Hip Hop and Jazz Choreographer and Performer after graduating from John Carroll University in 1993. While studying at the University in Cleveland Ohio, where she received a degree in Communications and Business, she performed with the Cleveland Ballet and studied at the Broadway Dance Center in New York. She has also performed as a back up dancer for The Wright Brothers, Fabian, Montel Jordan, Bruce Willis, Will Smith, Millie Vanilli and Tone Loc. After working in Sales full-time and performing professionally part-time, she decided to focus on dance as her full-time career. Working for Pageants, Conventions, Competitions, Bands, Agents, Universities, Professional Teams and Networks she had built a solid resume that includes the NBA, the WNBA, ESPN, MTV, Spike TV and the USA Dance Association. In 2000, she relocated with her husband Dan to Northern California where they opened the Rhythm Room Dance & Movement Center in Walnut Creek. The studio was moved to Lafayette in August of 2004. The Rhythm Room has over 40 instructors and nearly 100 classes per week, including her weekly class schedule and ongoing external programs for both adults & kids. She plans to continue expanding her programs for both adults and kids. The Rhythm Room is known for it’s welcoming, non-competitive atmosphere, beginner friendly classes, pre-professional program for kids, and it’s unique “all boys” program! The Rhythm Room also hosts parties, private events, video and photo shoots, and private lessons. Services beyond dance instruction include birthday party entertainment, professional dance entertainment, facility rental, and photography services. |
